Baby Feeding

For many first-time parents, baby feeding is an issue that never ceases to be interesting. Baby feeding is, of course, very important and it should always be taken very seriously. Namely, after the baby is ready to start eating solid foods, every parent has a hard time about deciding how to start their baby on solids and what to feed the baby at first. Although some babies are ready to start eating solid foods at an earlier stage than others, it is important that every baby is started on solids before they are one year old.

Baby Feeding – Introducing Solids

Baby feeding often poses a problem for many inexperienced parents, especially when it comes to introducing solid foods. The best solid foods to first be introduced are fruits and vegetables. The reason for this is the fact that fruits and vegetables are both delicious and easy to digest, and they can be mixed together in order for a meal to be interesting and complete. After fruits and vegetables, baby feeding should be taken to a new level by introducing meat. Chicken and turkey should be first introduced, followed by red meat. Meat, fruits and vegetables are all rich in vitamins, minerals and protein and all of these are needed for a baby to develop naturally.

Baby Feeding – What Foods to Avoid

There are some foods that should be avoided in baby feeding, and the reasons for this are numerous, including possible allergy reactions, difficult digestion, choking hazards, too strong-tasting foods and so on. Some of these foods are:

  • Strawberries and citrus fruits – citrus fruits are too sour for babies, and strawberries can cause serious allergic reactions
  • Nuts and sugary foods – nuts can be a choking hazard, and sugary foods can cause dental problems for a baby.
  • Hard foods – any foods that are not easy to chew can be dangerous for a baby.
